grateful dead, mj, j.c. superstar, mary jane hooper, grateful dead(again), the rest i'm unsure of.. these mixes/edits made over the the last couple years. just decided to compile and share them.
i recently tried to make a mix with a bunch of good loops and songs from all my "disco" records mixed together but failed.. this is all that came from that little session. first track: rick james stone city band.
blue sky has been around for some time and was founded by a high school friend of mine's dad(rick metzger). my friend(josh) now plays bass in the band. blue sky mostly plays classic rock covers(cream, the beatles, hendrix, etc.) but also have some great originals, such as this one. my friend explained to me that his dad had been wanting to have a video with 9/11 footage made to accompany their song "9/11" but didn't know how or who to ask for help, so i volunteered my services(stole videos from youtube and edited them). years ago, my dad played in bands with rick and i think it's pretty cool that he's still doing music and i'm involved with this in some way. i got
two new tapes out on sassbologna records in october (amable and drew james). this year was very good for hip hop. check out all these tapes for hours of dope beats. odetta, dj dredi, mark aubert's 2nd tape "the escape tape". all available at sassbologna.com
this film was created for the band upon the death horse. they always project black and white movies behind/on them during their performance, so i decided to make an "original" for them to use. it was fun trying new techniques, attempting to be creepy and rip off david lynch or something.
